First a special thank you to
Jodi ,
for letting me create a canvas with her, to remember her baby boy,
who she lost to spina bifida.
It was a beautiful, but bittersweet project..and I was honored to work with her.
Had to take the pic of my daughter today in her new jammies…
rocking her baby to sleep.
Who knew I gave birth to Cindy Lou Who …lol
(gotta love the grinch movie !)
Balance …
which I talk about every so often has been a bit hard to find this month…
orders have poured in for custom canvas orders, and I am so grateful ,
but it does stink that the busiest month for business is also the busiest month at home..
holidays, both kids birthday parties, shopping…baking…well..more like driving to the bakery….
Trying to remember to take it all in and remember to
breathe ….
and enjoy …..but some days are harder than others…
So this afternoon, I shut down the computer for a few hours..
popped some popcorn, snuggled on the couch with my kids
and as the snow fell outside, we watched a christmas movie together.
and for a few hours I was …
present
in the moment
and it was good.
How are you finding balance during this crazy month??

Oh my your daughter looks like a doll herself. How beautiful.
It is indeed a crazy time of year and seems each year we strive to make it bigger, better, grander than before. Wonder if we're just creating a monster instead of the lovely, gentle time that this season should be? Love the philosophy of the Grinch (both the book and the movies). Little Cindy Lou Who showed us all that Christmas is in our hearts and not in the twinkling lights, sparkling tinsel and gaily wrapped presents. Give your adorably precious little Cindy Lou Who a big hug from me.
May your Christmas be fully blessed with the simple pleasures of love, and joy and the warmth of dear families and close friends.
Yes balance is very hard this time of year. I am just trying to remember what it is really about and help teach that to my kids… and then the rest seems to fall into place.
Oh my, your little one is adorable!
Trying to find balance is always a struggle, and this time of year is even harder. I sell on eBay so it gets pretty crazy around here trying to get everything done. But somehow we manage. I try to get a lot of the work done once the kids are in bed which makes for long evenings, but I do what I have to.
Stopped by from SITS.
Your daughter couldn't be cuter if she tried!
I never thought about the month being twice as busy for you! That does kinda stink!
Your daughter is adorable. What a cute picture! Cindy Lou Who indeed!
your daughter is precious
)
i agree balance is hard this time of year. we are daily reminding our boys what christmas is all about.
may god bless you and your business this season and the coming years.
She is the most precious thing!!!
You're little girl is absolutely beautiful and so was this post. Thank you for the reminder to just stop and enjoy life. Christmas is such a busy time of year for everyone. We all get caught up with shopping, entertaining, *insert your own time-consuming activity here*. I'm ready to let it all go and find some balance by spending more time with my children doing what THEY love to do. Thanks for stopping by my blog! You're welcome back again anytime.
Oh, your daughter does look just like Cindy Lou Who!! It may be the hair…or that little nose…oh, she is precious!!
Tell me about December!! It's not like we didn't know it was coming!! But the same rush happens every year and all those little things we were going to do get brushed to the side. Well, at December 7th, I am not going to scold myself just yet. Best of luck on all your orders (which is a good thing, right?) and put off breathing until January!
Thank you so much for stopping. Glad you had a laugh!
xoxo
Janie
Wow your work is absolutely amazing!

I love this post! Your daughter TOTALLY is a Cindy Lou Who, and your project looks like it was really inspiring.
Thanks for coming and visiting my silly blog- yours is beautiful!
your daughter is adorable! What a precious picture =)
What a sweet project. And your daughter is completely adorable!!! What a cutie. Balance is a little hard to find this month… but we can do it!
your daughter is beyond beautiful! I seriously think you should make a list! It's amazing how much it's made me excited for the year to come!
Hm.. this time of year. We simplified. We dont do family presents, instead the whole family has settled on getting birthday presents this year. We can usually spend a little more throughout the year and who doesn't like mail during their birthday!? My husband and I decided christmas was getting to be too much. We agreed on 3 presents for each of us. 1 from each and 1 present together. It's amazing how easy and how much more thought you put into a gift making sure you get just the right one
And mostly just breathing, hot cocoa with a little somethin' somethin' and dont forget to laugh!
xxoox!
Your daughter is so CUTE!
Your artwork is beautiful! The canvas you created for Jodi is gorgeous.
Perfect way to find balance. I find myself doing the same thing.
