Then , my 1st grader had class pictures…this pic was taken the morning before he left for school, when I asked him how he was going to smile for the photo…he said regular..like this!…”This” was not regular…should be interesting to see those pics!

ok, so we have had a busy week, for those that are following our attempt to paint the kitchen walls, the cabinets, and EVEN painting the countertops…WHAT? you say…. I know, but Home Depot has a new line of product out to do just that…pretty neat for a quick fix until we can tile it after the holidays…I will let you know how it holds up under the wear and tear of “us”
And here is the progress so far on the kitchen…. a BIG thank you to a blogger at
Mama’s Pocketbook who was kind enough to share her paint color with me this am , after I saw here after photos of her kitchen and told my hubby I found our color… after we went thru 2 very very wrong greens I owe a big thanks to her… Thanks Dianne! If you like custom fabric pocketbooks…go check out her site!
We are starting to paint the pink countertops a rich brown, and still need to paint another coat of the green … the cabinets are done…to see the before images

Ah Stephanie – you are sweet to post my site! Thank you so much! Your kitchen cabinets look great. I think you'll love the green walls too. I didn't know you could paint countertops! I'm all over that! I would love to paint mine – can't wait to go to Home Depot tomorrow to find out more on that! THANK YOU!!!

potty advice: we tried with my son at 2.5 – no go. tried candy, chocolate, toys, books, you name it and nothing worked. then at about 3 and a few months, we just took the pull ups away. prepared him, told him this was it, his best friend at 'school' was in big boy pants and moving to the next class, so he had to as well. he had accidents and still dos when he's too busy to stop playing and go, but he does go on the big potty. (he's almost 3.5 now) still carry around a tote bag with extra clothes when we go anywhere in case of accidents, though. and #2 is a whole other challenge
She's so cute!!! I'm in love with this petite!!!

Love these Superior Snaps…especially the one of your baby and her daddy! Thanks so much for sharing…
First I must say Thank you so much for stopping by my blog. Now,I love your blog and your kitchen cabinets looks Awesome! I must say the kids are so Adorable :0) Potty advise let's see, if she is using her own potty then purchase some pretty stickers for each time she goes and then allow her to stick the stickers on the potty…..don't let her see the disappointment on your face…always smile even when she still may pee on herself…she's learning control at that point. Make it fun not stressful…let her see what it would feel like to have even her dolls wet for that day. Children are just so smart she must feel comfortable! Hope that helps! Following you now!
I think the potty advice so far on target. The bigger of a deal we make of it, the more it becomes our goal instead of just a thing kids do because they get older. For our kids, we chose a date (3rd birthday) and gave them "big boy" underwear. Then THEY put all of their diapers (and pull-ups if you have them) into the trash. And then don't look back! Don't use pull-ups! Yes, you'll have a few accidents for a few days, but if it's no big deal to you, and yucky for them, you'll be on your way. Night time – have a spare set of sheets. Don't cheat with pull-ups!
This really depends on the kid – I had one who had nighttime accidents off & on for a few months, one who had an occasional nighttime accident, and one who never even wet the crib. It seems impossible, but hang in there…it won't be too long before you get a "raise" because you're not buying diapers anymore.
Wow! You can paint counter tops? Can you tell me what product you used. I would love to cover up my white speckled 70's counter tops. Eventually we want to replace them, but cannot yet.

I love the transformation of this kitchen. Adding the white was a fantastic choice!
great job on the kitchen redecorating! my husband and I have done something fairly similar to our own kitchen – it's quite the undertaking, but so rewarding when it's finished!
