Our wedding song was "The One" by Shane MacGowan and Maire Brennan. Shane is the lead singer of The Pogues, and Maire was in Clannad. It combines Maire's ethereal sweetness with Shanes gruff but deeply loving sentiment. Shane is a sad, doomed genius. It's beautiful, haunting and deep. Like my wife. Our wedding song was "At Last" by Etta James. Kind of a typical overused song, I know, but it really was the first song we danced to as a couple because the hubs (bf at the time) requested it! So how could we not use it as our wedding song?!

I can't even remember what our first dance song was but I do remember the unity candle we lit to Fleetwood Mac's Christine McVie singing Songbird. Wonder if Hubby remembers the dance song. I think he chose it. Yes, I'm old.

I'm getting married in May 2010 on Grand Cayman Island, BWI. Because my fiance and I both live in Nashville, and because I work in the Country Music Industry, we wanted our song to represent not only the way that we feel about each other, but also the city in which we met and fell in love. All that being said, we chose "Whatever it Is" by the Zac Brown Band. The lyrics made me cry the first time I heard the song, and I knew right away that it was the perfect song for us.
