He is in business!!!!

After the last 9 months of watching me with my Geezees business…my 6 year old son went into business today. He wanted to make something himself (see Mail art to the side) and that he could donate the money to charity.

So I would like to announce that

Nails and Paint is officially open for business.

any profits he makes will be donated to the Third Street Allaince in Easton, PA, which is a shelter for homless women and children.

Prints and Words on Canvas-my new full time business!

Well, it is officially 1 month since I quit my regular job and have been doing my photos and words on canvas (otherwise known as Geezees) full time. It is very exciting. bove are my rcent photos of my favorite canvas’s from the past week or so…they are wedding gifts, childs photos, words on canvas to a lover, favorite peoms, and a wedding photo with lyrics printed on it.

I have joined the ranks with many others and have joined www.theknot.com as a vendor in the Gifts section in LA California.

I am excited to annouce that I am taking my marketing up a notch and will be joining up on some pretty cools new sites as a Vendor.
I will annouce those in the next week or so.

Looking forward to blogging about Geezees and my plans on taking it to the next level!

Art and Tutu’s

Well, my week started with my daughter , who is 2, deciding that she is sleeping with her tutu. Where did this come from?? I am not one of those girly girls…I don’t paint my nails…I love jeans and t-shirts…and here…my daughter starts her day in a PINK tutu , Cinderella toothbrush, then goes off to find a matching hairband for the day…
strange child…..

As for Geezees Custom Canvas , who knew that a home based business could be so romantic…I am inspired daily when putting someones vows or special words or memories on canvas….Thank you everyone….It is refreshing to be in a business dealing with people when they are in their happiest moments…celebrating new marriage…love…babies…and friendships!

Life is good!

I had the honor of working on a tribute canvas for someone a few weeks ago. It was hard to work on , sicne the woman who had passed was so young…a mom.

I thought it was a good time, being Memorial Day , to remember that every day is so precious and life is so short….and we should make the most of it. It is is easy to get wrapped up in the hustle of everyday life…but buddhism reminds us to BE in the moment…the rest can wait….

I have a question for you.

What is your opinion on the best wedding websites or blogs ?

I am always looking to expand and have taken out ad’s on some pretty well know sites…but I am curious to know where the REAL brides are going?

Most of my business over the last few months has been working with brides creating photo canvas’s with vows and lyrics on the image. Or another popular choice is putting your words on canvas…some put a favorite poem or their vows…some put the reasons “Why I love you…”

I would love to hear from anyone who is just engaged , just married….or just knows some really kick a** wedding sites…

Just a quick post , because my daughter cracks me up…she takes more time in the am getting ready than i do. I am not a girly girl….never have been…i like jeans and t-shirts…never have my nails painted…minimal makeup…BUT my daughter seems to ooze girli-ness…where does it come from???

Is it just in you from birth to like pink??

I find it very amusing to watch her in the am try to pull on a tutu over her pants…or find her glasses she wants to wear that day with matching headband….

Morning everyone…i just wanted to share a great little mom moment…I have mentioned before…but it is worth another little shout out…after the last 9 months of my son watching me start my business www.Geezees.com , he decided about 6 weeks ago to start his own little business for charity. www.nailsandpaint.etsy.com

He creates these cute little nails and wood …and PAINT! projects and donates the proceeds to charity. He decided he wanted to give it to kids and people that didnt have homes or toys. So after a little reasearching, we picked The Third Street Alliance…a beautiful old mansion in Easton PA. The resident housing program there offers shelter to homeless women and children. The building is 100 years old , and just beautiful…and the people that work in side even more beautiful.

So Zac and I got to finally visit The Thrid Street Alliance yesterday…and he was just so awesome (I know I am biased!lol) , he brought in the work he made for the staff that was sweet enough to order his projects…. Emigh Allison and their executive director Judy Matthewson —Thanks you so much for your assistance and your donation to Nails and Paint….you are lovely people and made us feel so welcome.

He made me so proud… he was so thrilled to be able to help people in need….and I am so lucky!

Geezees Canvas Art is booming, but life is about balance….so this past week, me and my son and daughter had a picnic at a local airport …. my son learned how to ride a 2 wheeler bike (I think I got my first grey hair…coincidence?? i think not … lol), and my daughter played dress up. We finally had a bunch of great sunny days after a whole lot of rain…. the fresh air and sun did us all some good.

Geezees is having a great week! Close to hitting 300 sales in less than 1 year. Thanks for all the referrals and spreading the word.. here is a quick recap of what we have been doing on the work front and home….because as I keep trying to remind myself….it is all about balance.

A new canvas from this week, Gia got her wings, we say an airplane take off from our fav picnic spot, and my boy lost another tooth!

I am loving this canvas…such a great photo, and the pop of red, just works. I would like to thank Lindsay, for sharing her love story with us.
Here is our third story in our weekly series “Canvas Unwrapped”

God had it all planned! When I finally realized that no matter how hard I tried my plans just weren’t working out and God had better things in store for me was when I met my husband Rob. A few years after college I decided to move from VA to San Diego with some friends and enjoy sunny California. I became friends with an awesome girl, Julie, that was from VA as well. A year passed and her brother Rob moved to San Diego and that was it, he was just what I needed! He swept me off my feet with a gondola ride around the Coronado waterways as our first date! We shared many perfect nights hanging out at ‘the ranch’ with his sister and cousin in Pacific Beach. Keane was always playing on his radio when he’d pick me up for dates. We loved just sitting and watching the Pacific Ocean together. We fell in love in San Diego! Our family is very important to us so we decided to move back east to Charlotte, NC together to be closer to family and fall into the roles of Aunt Ninny and Uncle Rob! Rob wanted to make sure I was surprised when he proposed so asking in a fortune cookie on his birthday definitely worked, best surprise ever! October was a big month for us – closing on a house, getting engaged, and getting our puggle, Wrigley. The following August we got married and had never felt so excited and so right about anything. We’ve loved building our life together, growing our faith and realizing God’s plan and timing was perfect. We’ve discovered there were multiple opportunities for our paths to cross when we were both in VA, we were meant to be!, but those times just weren’t right. I can’t wait for us to make more memories and grow old with each other! This was one of our favorite wedding day pictures because this quiet moment we shared was utter peacefulness! I just had to get this as a surprise anniversary gift when I saw Stephanie’s site. I know just looking at it will bring us back to that peaceful moment!

I am really one of the luckiest people out there. I love my job….I find it so romantic.
Every day I get orders from blushing brides, or for newlyweds, or couples celebrating a special anniversary. I get to see their beautiful photos, meet great people, and read the most inspiring, beautifully written vows, or special words that mean something so intimate to them.

This week I even had the pleasure to create a canvas that incorporated my wedding song (theirs to!) into it…which reminded me of that special day 8 years ago…I married my soul mate.

What a great first year…I have met wonderful clients, bloggers and feel so lucky.
Geezees has run a few giveaways before on some great sites, but this is the first one that I am hosting myself … to celebrate our one year mark!

Love, loss and finding balance

In a constant battle to find balance between growing my business Geezees , and being present at home with my family….I made the decision last week to hire a part time staff member to help with some of the behind the scenes work , and to allow me a bit more downtime with the kids. I slept where?? Canvas of the Week , Wedding and Romance Custom Canvas Art

Well, anyone who knows me in the real world would be VERY surprised to know that I this month I did something for the first time … I slept outside in a tent and camped out with my family and friends! I was armed with bug spray and convinced I would be eaten alive…that I would never be able to fall asleep on the hard ground…and that the kids would be terrified when the sun went down and darkness came… BUT .. to my pleasant surprise…
We had a BLAST…

Now, in no way were we roughing it … we did order PIZZA , yes…no joke.
And there was a bathroom near by… but a great time was had by all..no bug bites, slept pretty good..and the kids had a ball exploring the river and eating marshmellows…yummy!

A great evening… Perfect end to a great summer!

I was inspired by a beautiful blogger today, MckMama, if you havent checked out her site, it is a treat. She is honest mom, wife, writer, and woman who blogs about her life, her kids and her passions. Today she posted about these amazing children that are batteling cancer, going thru chemotherapy, and experiencing hair loss. They need and would cherish hats to keep their little heads warm this winter season.

So starting today, with help from my beautiful grandmother, Geezees will be donating 1 handmade knitted and crocheted hat for every sale for the month of October. Beautiful Cause…thank you MckMama for your daily inspirations.
(Geezees will donate 1 hat per sale , with a max of 25 homemade hat donations, or my canvases will never go out! lol)

Canvas collage, being present in the moment, and lost in corn

What a great weekend…. starting with an outing friday night with my husband… we were supposed to go to a buddhist discussion in NYC to see a very inspiring monk speak on peace and mindfulness in society, BUT hit so much traffic, we ended up missing it (talk about practicing being present in the moment) .. we ended up having such a great time walking the New York City streets together … no kids …just us … very romantic… much needed.

A bunch of sales this week at Geezees, which is great for more than the obvious… since we are still doing our donation of 1 handmade hat per sale for kids fighting cancer … runs the whole month of October, and inspired by one of our fav bloggers MckMama .. with whom we will be doing something special this week ! I think I will be up many late nights crocheting, thanks to my great clients!

Then, a great fall day with my family and friends … out on a farm, picking pumkins, getting lost in a few acres of a great corn maze … kids are wiped out , my brain is nice and clear … life is good!

We are well on on way this month to hitting out goal of 25 canvas sales and 25 hats donated to kids with cancer. Thanks to all my great clients… you rock. I also have a new project I am working on for a NYC School (more to come on this next month), where kids are drawing what inspires them inside their Silhoutte. Offering it up as a gift option for my clients to use with their own childs image…come peak !

Painting Kitchen Cabinets?? A what were we thinking weekend

Well for those of you who do not know me and my hubby personally, you should know that we are a bit spontaneous, impatient, and tend to not think things out before we do them. Some would say that is a good thing, others would disagree. Right now…I am note sure which way I am leaning … lol

It is rainy here on the east coast this weekend, and we thought it would be fun to start a house project … maybe paint the oak cabinets … not that we don’t like oak … we just tend to like darker woods … we also like brights colors. We looked around online and found some ideas we liked, and said, lets do it! Off to home depot we went to get our supplies.

Here is a photo of our kitchen (please ignore the pink / mauve counters, we bought our home last year… when we moved in we painted the kitchen , but were never in love with the oak cabinets… and knew we we in for a big change eventually ….

So here was our kitchen friday night….

We decided to paint our walls the granny smith green color… i know, i know…not for everyone …. and that is ok… whatever floats your boat I say …

OUR INSPIRATION

after reading and researching for all of (a-hem)2 hours… we decided to paint the oak cabinets white (sorry Mom!) , paint the walls green (again, my apologies mom) , and we found a cheaters way to paint the countertops. Which we might get to this evening …did I mention we are impatient??

And here is where we are right now … dont laugh … the dog is nervous wreck, the kids are hungry and we cant cook (poor kids) and we are tripping over things …

We dont have off from work this week… I have canvases to create, we are choking on paint fumes…my house is trashed…WHAT the H*** WERE WE THINKING???

But I am so excited to get it done and see the transformation …and luckily for me , so is my hubby …I feel an all nighter is upon us ….wait til I tell me husband he has to wrap about 4 canvases for me tonight..

I captured a great photo of my daughter and my hubby/her daddy … as he was leaving for work, she came running in with one of hits hats on … saying I go to work to??
Very much a Daddy’s girl …. and he loves every bit of it!
MOMS….on a side note…anyone have any GOOD potty training tips for a cute but stubborn 3 yr old girl who had ZERO interest in going on the big girl potty!

Then , my 1st grader had class pictures…this pic was taken the morning before he left for school, when I asked him how he was going to smile for the photo…he said regular..like this!…”This” was not regular…should be interesting to see those pics!

ok, so we have had a busy week, for those that are following our attempt to paint the kitchen walls, the cabinets, and EVEN painting the countertops…WHAT? you say…. I know, but Home Depot has a new line of product out to do just that…pretty neat for a quick fix until we can tile it after the holidays…I will let you know how it holds up under the wear and tear of “us”

And here is the progress so far on the kitchen…. a BIG thank you to a blogger at Mama’s Pocketbook who was kind enough to share her paint color with me this am , after I saw here after photos of her kitchen and told my hubby I found our color… after we went thru 2 very very wrong greens I owe a big thanks to her… Thanks Dianne! If you like custom fabric pocketbooks…go check out her site!

We are starting to paint the pink countertops a rich brown, and still need to paint another coat of the green … the cabinets are done…to see the before images click here , we are expecting to be mostly done by the end of the weekend… fingers crossed for me everyone!

I have such fond memories of my great grandparents .. and grandmother … my “nanny” “grandma” and “mema” growing up …. I miss them a lot … and wish they were here to see my children grow … But I am lucky enough that I have my parents here and one set of grandparents that love my children with that special grandparent love …. which is more than most have and I am grateful…

First a special thank you to Jodi ,

for letting me create a canvas with her, to remember her baby boy,

who she lost to spina bifida.

It was a beautiful, but bittersweet project..and I was honored to work with her.

Had to take the pic of my daughter today in her new jammies…

holidays, both kids birthday parties, shopping…baking…well..more like driving to the bakery….

Trying to remember to take it all in and remember to

breathe ….
and enjoy …..but some days are harder than others…
So this afternoon, I shut down the computer for a few hours..

popped some popcorn, snuggled on the couch with my kids

and as the snow fell outside, we watched a christmas movie together.
and for a few hours I was …

I took a break from creating canvases for the day to celebrate both my kids birthday’s …

things don’t always go as planned….we had a huge rollerskate party planned for them….and that morning we woke up to an ince storm, roads closed and the roller rink couldnt open, some family and friends got stuck on roads on the way to the party, one got into an accident (they are ok) …and I had to tell the kids, that the party was cancelled….

a few tears later, and some rearranging of plans, we threw together a quick birthday party at the house with whovever was able to walk over….the day was saved…a relief….

Now the home stretch is in for all the christmas canvas deliveries…. ….a lot is left to do for Geezees and home…feeling a bit like santa right now, he must get so stessed the week before xmas….lol

Well, today is the day …. my mailbox store is opening an hour early for me (Thanks Pat!) so I can ship the last of the Holiday Canvases out for holiday delivery …. WHAT A CRAZY MONTH!

I am a mix between excited and exhausted , me and the hubby have been working around the clock … Geezees Custom Canvas sold 85 holiday gifts this holiday season … Thank you ALL for an AMAZING and succesful year … I look forward to 2010 !

I have a really fun contest that will start in January for those who have a Geezees hanging in their homes… so be on the look out for that in the next few weeks….

Off to deliver these packages ….then off to sleep …….

And on a side note …. (and in no way an ad), my son got this toy called a “Bop it” for his birthday the other day …and I have to say , in this day, when I am usually disappointed by the quality of toys …. it is the most fun I have had with a kid toy in a long time…

I worked hard these last 6 weeks, to get out all Geezees custom canvas gifts, and have taken the last few days to just sit and enjoy.

To watch my children enjoy the magic of christmas…..to sneak down the stairs to see if Santa ate the cookies and drank the milk (which he did…and boy is he messy!)

To open up packages, and try to assemble the most impossible toys…or should I say , as any parent knows…the impossible packaging the toys come in … CRAZY!!! lol

Just taking these few days to soak it all in … to enjoy each moment , to relax…..

and it feels so good….This week, it will be back to normal, and only 363 days til we do it all again

Hope everyone enjoyed their holidays, enjoyed their canvases…. and I look forward to sharing an exciting contest that I will be hosting in January….. get your camera’s ready!

First let me say, I must have had one too many egg nogs this evening , since I am crazy enough to put a pic up of my 9 month pregnant bare belly for all the world to see… but I don’t care…I loved being pregnant … loved the belly… and ..well..there it is in all it’s glory!

This New Years Eve, I feel reflective on the last three years , and how quick time goes (not just a cliche after all). My daughter was born on Janary 2nd … she will be 3 years old in a few days… and it is so amazing to watch a “little me” see the world. It seems like only yesterday I felt her moving in my belly, with her big brother talking to her … saying “Hi Helicopter, I can’t wait to meet you” or “Good Morning Poopi Sinai” yep… , that was not a typo…. my son wanted to call her Helicopter or Poopi Sinai … don’t ask …… luckily for her, he didnt win …and she was named Gianna …

I love when I get to work on maternity canvases for moms to be … i love the words they choose …. I love the artistic ways people photograph their tummies … I think it is so beautiful…and such a special time in a womans life…it is great to have something to remember it by … it is not too often us girls are proud to show off our stomachs …know what I am saying?? One of my favorite songs on these canvases are “You’ll Be Blessed” , by Elton John … I had it playing in my room at the hospital when my son was born …

Now my daughter is turing 3, helping me cook pancakes in the morning for her Daddy and her Brother…. giving me GIRL attitude one minute and loving and kissing me the next …. she is stubborn like me and silly like me…and I love watching her grow ….

Another one of my favorite lyrics lately (thanks to my great clients!) has been “I loved her first”
But I loved her first and I held her first
And a place in my heart will always be hers
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me ……

You get the idea………what a tear jerker … do you have any songs that bring a tear to your eye about your child or loved one?? I would love to hear them….

Kids photos on canvas, and The “B” Word …. kids are too funny

I am lucky in my job because with Geezees I get to print some great photos of kids on canvas…and get to read some great quotes, some about kids, or one of those that are

“outta the mouth of babes”

… I have to share a recent thing my son came home with recently…

He is 7 years old, and on the naive innocent side still… the other day he came home, a bit upset, when me and my hubby asked what was wrong, he said that some girl on the bus was trying to get him to say a bad word.

When we asked what it was…he didnt want to say the actual word, afraid he would get in trouble…but said it was one of the BAD “B” word….

Well, we told him that we were very proud of him since he didnt say the word, and told him that he made the right choice, blah blah blah …you know the routine …

all that parent stuff…lol… now to the good part…

After the talk, he said “Daddy, do you want me to whisper it in your ear, once” My hubby says, ok, giving him permission to say this horrible “B” word one time…

my son whispers it to his Dad

My hubby looks like he is going to explode……………….

……………………..with laughter

and tells our son to leave the room

then proceeds to BURST out laughing…..

wanna hear the word?? My hubby asks?? yes…of course I do…

“BUTTOCKS !!!”

really?? lmao … my poor sweet little boy …. so clueless…..

First … after a great day Saturday rollerskating with family and friends, we were riding home and the CHECK ENGINE light came on. The car lost all power, and chugged home at 10 miles an hour … Luckily …. my brother was behind us and followed us to a garage to make sure we arrived there safe and got the kids home. The car had a minor clog and cost us under $150 … not too bad.

Second, we arrive home, one vehicle down, still joking and enjoying the great morning we had … despite the car issue, and come to find , my husbands work lap top CRASHES … the dreaded blue screen of death ….Luckily … he purchased the 3 year warranty, he calls the store, and they say it can be repaired in 24 hours.

Thirdly, we go to throw in a load of laundry in the basement and find out that out plumbing has backed up and flooded out our basement with nasty “outgoing” (If you catch my drift) water…everything is wet, yucky, smelly and we cant use any of our drains….Luckily … we have great friends that come to our rescue and help my hubby all day resolve the messy issue….

So, what is the message here to ask?? In 24 hours, 3 major problems arise, and me and the Mr. were able to smile, joke, laugh and to keep things in perspective … people have it a lot worse than us, and the power of LAUGHTER should never be underestimated! It would have been just as easy to scream, get angry or cry ….. but it feels so much better this way …. it is weekends like these, that I am so grateful we are together and a team for what life’s got to offer!

I would like to introduce Geezees FIRST story behind the canvas.CANVAS UNWRAPPED. I plan on doing a weekly spot to show the art and someones story behind the words or images. I hope to share the most beautiful part of my job with everyone. Everyday I get a glimpse into the inspirational , heartfelt , sometimes bittersweet stories that people share with me to create their custom canvas art. I would like to thank Jamie, so much for being the first story and sharing her AMAZING and beautifully honest life story.

Jamies Story
Some of the words I chose for my canvas are obvious and words that any married couple might use to identify themselves or their relationship. words like
friendship, family, companion and trust.
Some of the words are things we enjoy or
ways we relax and unwind…
eating king crab legs, drinking fine wine,
eating cheese fondue,taking trips to Trader Joe’s and Costco.

Some of the words or phrases that are on our canvas have come from the year we spent traveling the world together, crossing the Drake passage on our voyage to Antarctica, where the boat tossed so violently Kris fell and flew across our cabin and nearly broke a rib. Petit Byahaut…an eco-lodge that our friends were running in the West Indies, it was a trip filled with mosquito nets, scuba diving, adventure and special friendship. Caipirinas at Acajatuba…..Acajatuba was the lodge we stayed at during our trip to the Amazon Jungle, where there was no electricity, lots of bugs and spiders and many caipirinas drunk on the porch overlooking the Rio Negro. And it was in a Tuscan villa where we began to be honest about the emptiness and contempt between us.

Sky Ridge Medical Center was the hospital where all three of our children were born, in three years. Mackenzie Sienna, Kassadie Rio and Keaton Palmer,
each of their middle names chosen for a favorite place we visited in our travels.

3 pulmonary embolisms and a 2nd chance at life...

our son was born in March of 2009 and the morning following his birth, I suffered 3 pulmonary embolisms. The nurse who caught it in time and the doctor who ordered the CT scan and immediate therapy with blood thinners, ultimately saved my life. I truly felt as if I’d been given a second chance at life,
it’s amazing how the little annoyances seem so unimportant now.

The words on the canvas that are the most significant to us have all been born out of the blood that has been shed (figuratively speaking, of course) fighting for this relationship. We both brought our own set of wounds and baggage into our marriage and pretty soon after the honeymoon was over, well, the honeymoon was over. So we embarked on the most incredible and painful journey either of us had ever been on. A journey to discover what faith, hope and love really meant to us. To be honest about past wounds and hurts, most of which occurred before we ever met each other. And then creating a safe environment to share our stories with one another. It was a journey to make our home a safe place…to lay down our weapons…to fight for each other (not against)…to give each other grace
…to fight fair and believe the best about each other.
Its been a journey of recovery.

Our marriage is far from perfect, but we continue to look at our canvas everyday and feel a sense of gratitude for where we have been, where we are today
…and that we can use the word redemption to describe our love.

I would like to introduce another GEEZEES story behind the canvas.

Canvas unwrapped,

which shows the art and someones story behind the words or images. I hope to share the most beautiful part of my job with everyone! Everyday I get a glimpse into someones inspirational, heartfelt sometimes bittersweet stories that people share with me to create their custom canvas art. I would like to thank Brooke for letting us share her story behind the canvas.

Brooke’s Story

All of our words i choose to put on canvas had to do with our “firsts“, our engagement and our wedding.
*Our firsts We met in physical therapy school in Lubbock and started dating in April of 2008. Our first date was at Gas Light. Our first kiss was at The Fox and The Hound, and he told me he loved me for the first time on a stairwell in San Antonio. Apt 2301 on 5710 4th street is the address of our first apartment together that we are now living in. *Our Engagement I wrote ‘sidewalk chalk‘ and ‘fireworks‘ because he proposed to me using sidewalk chalk at his parents house in Canadian Texas on July 3, 2009, and then we went to a huge fireworks celebration that the town has. Together in Texas and 5 love languages were the two sessions of marriage counseling we did. I wrote about our rings as well. Mine is a beautiful solitaire and his is made out of Damascus steel. *Our Wedding We got married in our home of Odessa, TX on January 2, 2010 at Crossroads fellowship. TWO short weeks ago! We went to Angel Fire, NM for our honeymoon and it was the most fun that i have ever had! It is gorgeous there! Our first dance was to Stoney LaRue’s “My Feet Don’t Touch The Ground“ and “Freeze Frame Time” is what he and his mom danced to. “Take Me There” by Rascal Flatts played during our slide show, along with “I Do” by Paul Bradt. So, “I Do“ on the canvas has double meaning. The other words are my way of telling him i love him. He is my best friend and answered prayer. Our wedding colors were black and ivory with pink accents….just like the canvas!

OUR AFTER PHOTOS!!

Does anyone remember my post a few weeks ago talking about my kitchen remodel??

Well, with an exception of a little bit more backspash, my hubby rocked it these last two weekends, and (with the help of a few good friends) tiled the counters, and added a beautiful glass backspash. I LOVE IT!!

We went from MAUVE countertops…oak cabinets (not that there is anything wrong with mauve) to a custom countertop , bright white cabinets, and green walls! So exciting!

Now to finish it off with a custom bus roll.

I decided that since I make these Destination Art Canvases for clients and I adore them, why not make on for myself! Right?? So me and the hubby are creating our list of special places that are important stops along our relationship and place it as the finishing touch on our kitchen wall.

So BIG project off our list, wondering what the next one will be…

Maybe floors? Maybe strip the wallpaper in my daughters bedroom…

Whimsical and Romantic, New look for Geezees Custom Canvas

I have exciting news…. my website www.Geezees.com is getting a whole new look. Since a BIG part of what I do (I would say about 80%) is work with brides, grooms, newlyweds, people celebrating anniversary’s, decorating new homes, friends and family looking for that PERFECT unique wedding gift or something to celebrate love.

Since my recent makeover of my blog, from Once Upon a Blog, which I love, I feel like my website needed a romantic facelift …. I am working with the lovely designer, Summer from Chocolate Box Designs to create a new website for Geezees Custom Canvas Art that really represents the vibe of what we offer…Go check out her work … it is wonderful!!

I love how it came out, and I love how it feels when I walk by and see the names of places that are SO important in our journey together.

Valentines Day orders are well on their way, WOW (wish I could take on more, but a girl needs to sleep)… thank you to my clients for making february an amazing month so far… I will be announcing the special giveaway and the launch of the new website sometime in the next week.

Gotta run, proofs are waiting for me……

So while Mr. Geezees is watching the superbowl, I thought I would blog a bit , about some of the wide range gifts I get to create with people…. music lovers, sports lovers, engaged, new homeowners, Just Married , those celebrating their 70th birthday and the top 70 things their grandkids love about them (see next week for the post about this one…so sweet!) name it…I’ve done it …something different every day …

A letter to my husband….
On February 14, 2004…i married my best friend!!!
I made him an “I LOVE YOU LIST” of 100 things i love about him for our anniversary…some our very personal…but here are a few things i thought i would share with you!!!

I love that you are gonna be the best Daddy in the world…(we are currently trying to have a baby). I love that you love me no matter what kind of mood I’m in. I love how you know how to make me smile even when i am not in the mood to smile I love how you wrote a song about me called “Niki’s Song”, and every time i hear it it makes me smile. I love that you tell me “I LOVE YOU” everyday….and kiss me before bed every night. I love that you don’t take life too seriously and live in the moment. I love how patient you are with me. I love that you are a dreamer. I love that i get to call you my husband. I love you for telling me I’m sexy…especially when i don’t feel like it. I love the way you look for and find the positive in everything. I love that you are right most of the time. I love that you made our wedding invitations. I love that your my best friend. I love that after being together for 11 years, you still give me butterflies. I love that you are the funniest person i ever met. I love how much you love my family. I love that you asked me to be your wife…and i said yes…and i am so happy i get to spend the rest of my life with you.

Thank you baby for 6 wonderful years of marriage…i am so proud to be your wife.
